TOP UNIVERSITIES IN AUSTRALIA
Australia is the third most popular location for international students, after the United Kingdom and the United States. Additionally, Australia is home to several top-ranked and internationally recognized schools and colleges. And it's not difficult to see why! Did you know Australia is represented by 36 universities in the QS World University Rankings 2021, which were recently released. There were only six of these universities that dropped in the rankings this year, with most of the Australian universities making big gains.
It is no wonder students are eager to know more about the top universities in Australia.
It should not be surprising that when we were simply browsing the best schools in Australia, it revealed a plethora of amazing programs and gorgeous colleges to study in.
1. Australian National University (ANU) - ANU is a top-ranked university in Australia. ANU is located in the country's capital, Canberra and was founded in 1946 by the Australian Parliament. If you want to learn new things about politics and law, you should go to this university. ANU offers over 50 bachelor's degree programs across seven academic colleges. The university offers bachelor's degrees lasting three years, four-year bachelor's degrees with honors, and five-year double degrees.
2. University of Melbourne - The University of Melbourne is one of the best schools in Australia, having been founded in 1853, making it the country's second-oldest university. The university follows the 'Melbourne Model', in which first-year students select a broad undergraduate degree in Agriculture, Arts, Bio-medicine, Commerce, Design, Environments, Fine Arts, Music, Oral Health, Science, or General Studies, and then specialize through a postgraduate degree. Although the university does not offer double degrees, it does allow students to study double majors within a single undergraduate degree.
3. University of New South Wales (UNSW) - UNSW is one of the top 5 universities in Australia! The University Of New South Wales (UNSW) was founded in 1949 as an open research university with the goal of meeting the new demands of growing technology. It was originally called the New South Wales University of Technology. The University of New South Wales established two colleges, one in Newcastle and another in Wollongong. The university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in a variety of fields of study. The courses are offered by various faculties, including the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Art and Design, the Faculty of BUSINESS SCHOOL, the Faculty of Art and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Engineering and Science. 4. University of Technology Sydney (UTS) - The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) has climbed seven places this year in joint 133rd in the world university rankings. UTS ranks exceptionally well in the indicators of citations per faculty member, international students, and employer reputation, coming in at 67th, 78th, and 85th, respectively. UTS was founded in 1988, making it one of the country's most recent top universities. They want to spread knowledge by working with businesses, professionals, and the community to give research-based instruction.
5. University of Adelaide - The University of Adelaide was founded in 1874 and is Australia's third oldest university, ranking joint 106th in this year's world university rankings. The University of Adelaide is 44th in the world for having a lot of international students. More than 7,860 of the university's 21,142 students come from more than 100 different countries. With 186 undergraduate programs to choose from, students have a lot of options. The university is a research-intensive institution that makes significant investments in Agriculture, Minerals and Energy, Health and Biomedical Sciences, and Environmental Studies.
6. University of Queensland (UQ) - The University of Queensland is one of Australia’s best. If you look at the QS World University Rankings, you can see that it was founded in 1909 and has since been named one of the world's top 50 universities by the rankings. There are more than 50 undergraduate courses for students to choose from. The Center for World University Rankings has ranked UQ as the world's best university for its biodiversity conservation program. Besides that, it is well-known for its research in marine and freshwater biology, and water resources, and this makes it even better.
7. University of Sydney - The University of Sydney is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Australia! The University of Sydney, founded in 1850, has a long and distinguished history. Nine faculties (Arts, Business, Dentistry, Engineering, Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Science) and three schools comprise the university (Architecture, Music, and Law). With over 100 undergraduate program options, students have a lot of options.
8. University of Western Australia - UWA outperforms all other Australian universities in terms of both international faculty members and citations per faculty member (a measure of research output). With approximately 24,000 students, the student body is smaller than that of the majority of other top-ranking universities in Australia. This university is well-known as a global leader in the study of Mineral and mining engineering. 9. Monash University - Monash University is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Australia. This university, founded in 1958, is ranked number two in the world for Pharmacy and Pharmacology by QS. It has research institutes in other countries including Italy (Prato), India (Mumbai), and China (Suzhou). Monash University is divided into several departments, including the Department of Forensic Medicines, the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, and the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
10. Newcastle University - Newcastle University was established in 1963. It is well-known for its mining engineering and architecture programs. The university offers a diverse range of undergraduate programs, including double degrees, which are advantageous if you are considering more than two degrees.
